About The Artist, Heather Burris (shown with her horse, Scooter)......
"I have a passion for the Western culture and creating on canvas the "Realism" of the working cowboy, rodeo cowboy, the livestock, and the
children who hold the future of the meaning of Cowboys and Cowgirls.
I am a self taught artist from early childhood, dabbling in many medias, my favorite to be in painting with acrylics and oil pastels. I have entered several local
contest while in high school and achieved several awards. Known for my boldness in color, realism, and fine detail I like to capture the moment of a memory
and bring it to life on my canvas. I grew up on a small horse farm in the northeast showing Quarter Horses and loving every creature great and small. I have
lived in several different states from the mountains, oceans, and the rolling hills until entering my 30's and found Texas my home and planted roots in the heart
of Rodeo and Western Culture. Now in my 40's, a wife and mother of 2, as a family we enjoy competing in Rodeos, Barrel Races, and Team Ropings. While
traveling to events I use my camera to capture those special moments of Cowboys and Cowgirls and their horses, and livestock and recreating the magic
on my canvas. I enjoy doing commissioned work. It brings joy to my heart to know I have brought a precious memory to life for someone else to cherish forever.
My Paintings and Pastels have became a way of life that I consider a gift from God that I hope to be able use to witness to the western culture, searching for the
Lost for Jesus Christ."
